Panel to Balmer: Show us records

Committee wants e-mail, phone info in lobbying probe

An ethics committee appointed to review whether Rep. David Balmer acted appropriately in his race for minority leader renewed on Tuesday its request that the Centennial Republican turn over his phone and e-mail records.

"That would clear this up in a big hurry," said Rep. Tom Massey, R-Pagosa Springs.

But Balmer's attorney, Jon Anderson, later said Balmer routinely deletes his e-mails and could not find any relating to the leadership race. Balmer and Rep. Frank McNulty, R-Highlands Ranch, were vying for the leadership post.
