"It makes one wonder why a public official made certain decisions, especially ones that benefited certain interests, when just days, months or years later they take a lucrative job lobbying for the same interests."
Craig Holman, a government affairs expert at Public Citizen, commenting on Scott McInnis' voting record, as quoted in The Denver Post, 07/25/2010.

The Colorado State University system board of governors agreed Wednesday to pay $19,000 in legal fees incurred by three media organizations, including The Pueblo Chieftain, who filed a lawsuit against the board claiming it violated the open-meetings law.

Two months ago, The Chieftain, Fort Collins Coloradoan and Colorado Independent filed the suit claiming the board repeatedly violated the open-meetings law during its selection of the new system chancellor during closed-door meetings on April 28, April 29 and May 5.

In June, a judge ordered the board to publicly release recordings of about an hour and a half of a four-hour closed-door session of May 5 during which chancellor candidate Joe Blake was interviewed and named the sole finalist of the post.
